Damon & Laura

Damon and Laura first met in Las Vegas in October of 2017. They were set up by a mutual friend, who told Laura she needed to find a date for her boyfriend’s roommate. Before agreeing to go to the Marine Corps ball with the roommate, Laura did some serious Facebook stalking. What she found was a guy who does not actively post on social media, his last picture post was from 2013, where he was rocking a buzzed haircut. What she gathered from her stalking was a basic white boy who liked to hunt, help charities, and loved his family. Laura agreed to meet Duck Dynasty, I mean Damon. 

Damon and Laura had their first date at a speakeasy in downtown Vegas. Damon decided to be late for the initial date. Finally, he casually walked in with such smooth, flowy hair, that Laura suddenly forgot about the basic white boy with a buzz cut she thought she was meeting. The night was filled with great cocktails, conversation, and adventure. Laura latched onto Damon that night and never let go. 

Through a deployment, multiple Marine Corps balls, grad schools, and living in three different states - Damon and Laura finally decided it was time. Perhaps it was Laura’s subtle hints, like naming her nail polish colors “proposal pink, wedding dress white, and engagement ring gold” or he realized he couldn’t live without her chicken tinga. Either way, they tied the knot in Vegas. They had a traditional Vegas elopement, complete with exchanging vows on top of the High Roller, taking pictures in front of the Bellagio fountains, and having dinner while live Mariachi played. Damon always joked about having a “trashy Vegas wedding.”  

Our Vegas wedding was an intimate celebration with only our parents and siblings. We couldn’t let our Vegas Elopement be the only celebration, at least Laura couldn’t. We would love to be surrounded with family and friends for our official wedding. So, pop the bubbly, or shoot back the tequila, because we would love to have you join us in Cozumel, Mexico.

Damon y Laura se conocieron por primera vez en Las Vegas en Octubre del 2017. Una amiga en común les tendió una trampa y le dijo a Laura que necesitaba encontrar una cita para el compañero de cuarto de su novio. Antes de aceptar ir al baile de los  Marines con el compañero de cuarto, Laura espio seriamente en Facebook a Damon. Lo que encontró fue un muchacho que no publica activamente en las redes sociales, su última foto publicada fue del 2013, donde lucía un corte de pelo rapado. Lo que encontró de su intensa investigación fue un muchacho gringo básico al que le gustaba cazar, ayudar a organizaciones benéficas y amaba a su familia. Laura aceptó conocer a Duck Dynasty, me refiero a Damon. 

Damon y Laura tuvieron su primera cita en un bar clandestino en el centro de Las Vegas. Damon decidió llegar tarde a la cita inicial. Finalmente, entró casualmente con un cabello tan suave y suelto que Laura de repente se olvidó del muchacho gringo  básico con un corte rapado que pensó que iba a conocer esa noche. La noche estuvo llena de excelentes cócteles, conversaciones y aventuras. Laura se agarró del brazo de Damon esa noche y nunca lo soltó. 

A través de un deployment, múltiples bailes de Marines, escuela de posgrado, y viviendo en tres estados diferentes, Damon y Laura finalmente decidieron que era el momento. Tal vez fueron las indirectas de Laura, como nombrar los colores de su esmalte de uñas "propuesta rosado, vestido de novia blanco y anillo de compromiso dorado" o Damon se dio cuenta de que no podía vivir sin la tinga de pollo que le cocina Laura. De cualquier manera, se casaron en Las Vegas. Tuvieron una boda estilo Las Vegas en el High Roller. Se tomaron fotografías en frente de las fuentes del Bellagio y cenaron en casa mientras tocaba un mariachi en vivo. Damon siempre bromeaba sobre tener una "boda de mala calidad en Las Vegas con Elvis" y así fue.  

Nuestra boda en Las Vegas fue una celebración íntima con solo nuestros padres y hermanos. No podíamos dejar que nuestra boda de Las Vegas fuera la única celebración, al menos Laura no podía. Nos encantaría estar rodeados de familiares y amigos para nuestra boda oficial. Entonces, destapen el Champagne o avientense un shot de tequila, porque nos encantaría que te unas a nosotros en 

Cozumel, México.

We kindly request that you wear cocktail attire for the wedding celebration. The wedding ceremony and reception will take place on a terrace, so wear your favorite dancing shoes. We can't wait to see you all :)
